The Manor Woods Valley Group acts as the ‘friends’ group for Manor Woods Valley and works closely with Bristol Council’s Parks Department to help maintain and develop it for the benefit of wildlife and people. We took over as the ‘friends’ group during 2019, when the Malago Valley Conservation Group (MVCG) wound-up.
The Group’s work is informed by science and research where possible. The proposed work is detailed in a Management Plan that is regularly reviewed and updated.
The Group is made up entirely of volunteers who run conservation activities such as clearing encroaching Brambles, sowing and planting wildflowers, coppicing and tree planting. We also organise events such as family nature activities, guided walks and talks.

Our management committee meetings are open to all members and anyone who shares our aims.
We have prepared a Position Statement that explains how we will respond to development proposals and/or planning applications that affect greenspaces near to Manor Woods Valley and in the wider area.
