There are lots of ways to join in and volunteer in Manor Woods Valley. Activities include:

  • pruning trees, coppicing, clearing brambles & invasive weeds, path repair
  • planting trees & sowing wildflowers
  • harvesting apples & pears in the orchard
  • litter picking
  • wildlife surveys (e.g. butterfly counts)

Volunteering in Manor Woods Valley has lots of benefits. Wildlife benefit from the improvements to habitats and there are health and wellbeing benefits for you and you’ll be doing your bit for the environment. It’s good fun and everyone is welcome.

“Exercise, fresh-air, good company and rewarding work”.

Good Gym Report April 2019 2

Our volunteering activities are run by group leaders who are trained in health and safety and first aid and are insured by Bristol City Council.

Tools and equipment are provided. There’s no need to book, just drop in and stay for as long as you like. Follow us on Facebook or sign up to our newsletter for information about upcoming events.

Litter-picking is a popular and rewarding activity- but we’re having to dig deeper in to the undergrowth, and retrieving older and older material, each time we do it, which means that we’re well on top of things now!
